Virtual Night of Museums 2020

Virtual Night of Museums 2020

On the 15th of May at 19:00 begins our first adventure with the Virtual Night of Museums. Although we will not meet in the atmospheric Collegium Maius courtyard, we will show you which famous politician who recently celebrated their birthday once visited the Jagiellonian University Museum. Therefore, we inaugurate a series of archival footage documenting the visits paid by distinguished persons of science, culture and politics to our museum. We will not enter the interactive exhibition located in historical lecture rooms, but we will show you the way to carry out your own physical experiments, including dispersion of light. The youngest of us will learn to stage a shadow play with use of cardboard boxes, paper and sticks

The youngest of us will learn to stage a shadow play with use of cardboard boxes, paper and sticks.

We will also preview a new exhibition focused on the question of colour from the perspective of three specialists: a physicist, historian, and art historian. We will further comment on the project originally planned for Collegium Maius cellars, which was prevented by the outbreak of the epidemic and realised by our students in an online form. The fans of museum tales and faithful readers of the museum newsletter will have the chance to read the newest issue.
