Statement of the Polish academic community in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine

Statement of the Polish academic community in response to the Russian attack on Ukraine

In light of Russia’s military invasion on Ukraine and flagrant violation of international agreements and standards adhered to in the modern civilised world, the Polish academic community firmly condemns the attack on our neighbours and any use of violence against them.

We stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian nation, express our support for Ukraine as a sovereign state and declare our willingness to help our neighbours during this difficult time. At the same time, we call on the Ministry of Education and Science to collaborate with the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange in order to undertake special measures, including legal ones, that would support Ukrainian researchers, doctoral students and students who express the wish to continue their work and study at Polish higher education institutions.

The Polish academic community will further intensify and broaden the scope of its cooperation with our Ukrainian partners in all areas.
