About publication: Kings and benefactors, professors, and other distinguished personages of Polish culture and science look down from the walls of this magnificent Hall. Many visitors have undoubtely asked who were those people, how did they impact the University, and who painted their portraits. Their curiosity will certainly be satisfied by the compact guidebook written by Professor Aleksander B. Skotnicki and Dr Anna Jasińska. The structure of the text is easily comprehensible. The reader will find biographies of the portrayed personages, profiles of artists responsible for the portraits, and an allocation chart of all paintings located in the Hall.
