Dresden Corridor

The small corridor leading from the Green Room is adorned with portraits by two painters, members of the avantgarde Formist group–Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz (1885–1939) and Leon Chwistek (1884–1944), a talented mathematician. One of the most interesting paintings in this place is undoubtedly the double portrait of L. Chwistek painted by Witkacy. This work depicts two distinct artistic approaches taken by the painter: a realistic depiction and a completely loose, almost fantastic portrayal done under influence of mind-altering substances.
