'Virtual Małopolska' is a digitalisation project implemented by the Małopolska Institute of Culture under the Regional Operational Programme for Małopolskie Voievodship 2014–2020. For the purpose of this project, the Institute will collaborate with twenty Małopolska museum institutions in order to perform 2D and 3D digitalisation of ca. 1.500 exhibits
‘Kept for posterity. Mementos and events in connection with John Paul II’ is the title given by us to remembrance of the 100th birthday anniversary of Karol Wojtyła. Therefore, we open up our collection and present papal mementos. We also encourage you to watch the archival footage of the visit paid by John Paul II to the Jagiellonian University Museum on 8 June 1997 on the Museum's YouTube channel and the Media Maius webpage.

On 8 June 1997, Pope John Paul II visited Collegium Maius where he met University professors and students. The event was hosted by Prorector Franciszek Ziejka who reminded in a speech of the contribution to the Jagiellonian University made by Queen Hedwig. Due to the canonisation Mass for the queen which was to be held in on the same day in the Błonia Park, a portrait of Hedwig was put on display in the museum courtyard
we inform you that from 1 June 2020 the Museum will be open for visitors. Individual visitors will be able to visit the main exhibition (from the Libraria to the Aula) from Monday to Friday at 10:00-15:00 (last entry at 14:30). The maintenance break at 12:30-13:00 will temporarily close the exhibition (last entry before the break at 12:10).
The courtyard will be open from Monday to Saturday at 9:00-18:00. The number of visitors will be limited.
