Tour of the graphic arts exhibition

event-date: 07.11.2015

Mezzotint, aquatint, copperplate… or maybe woodcut? Anyone who was unsure about the artistic techniques employed by Władysław Pluta or Henryk Ożóg, or the location of the ‘altar' of the Wejman family, certainly found the answers after attending the lecture held by Prof. Adam Wsiołkowski.

On Saturday, Collegium Maius hosted the distinguished painter, graphic artist and academic teacher, the ex-rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Prof. Adam Wsiołkowski. Our honoured guest not only described the artistic techniques with an erudition which is natural to him, but also told about the lives of extraordinary Cracow's artists. Although the Professor ironically began his tale with Wit Stwosz, he remained focused on contemporary artists living in Cracow. Those visitors who had decided to arrive with their children were able to leave them to the attention of our pedagogues, who organised an art class. This event accompanied the exhibition ‘Cracow's artists for the Jagiellonian University. Works of visual art donated in 2013-2015' which remains open in the JU Museum Collegium Maius until the 20th December 2015.

The next meeting with Prof. Adam Wsiołkowski is to take place on the 22nd November (Sunday) at 11 am. We invite you to join in!
