Visit of the President of Croatia in Collegium Maius

On the 27th January 2016, the President of Croatia paid a visit to the Jagiellonian University Museum. In accordance with tradition, honourable guests are to be led into Collegium Maius through the gate facing the Św. Anny Street.  This visit was no exception.

In presence of the authorities of the Małopolska region, Prof. Wojciech Nowak, the University rector, with the vice-rectors Piotr Laidler and Stanisław Kistryn, as well as with the Dean of tha Faculty of Philology, Prof. Elżbieta Górska, gave welcome to the president. Prof. Krzysztof Stopka, the director of the JU Museum, introduced the honourable gest to the history of the oldest university building by telling her about the most notable exhibits collected in Collegium Maius. Then presents were given out in Stuba Communis. The President of Croatia donated a collection of publications as a contribution to the library of the JU Institute of Slavic Philology. The rector handed over a replica of the majestic seal of Kasimir the Great. The visit ended with Kolinda Grabar-Kitarowić leaving the signature in the commemorative book of visitors.
