An evening with Jane W. Sterling

Wieczór z Jane W. Stirling to tytuł przedsięwzięcia, jakie miało miejsce w sobotę 23 kwietnia br. w Sali Zielonej Collegium Maius.

An evening with Jane W. Sterling is the title of an event which took place on Saturday, the 23rd April, in the Collegium Maius Green Room. In order to pay homage to the Scottish aristocrat and Chopin's pupil, who distinguished herself with preserving the composer's heritage, the initiators of the.AboutProject.com set off on a journey to follow his footsteps. During the event in Collegium Maius, the project's creators – Marcin Jaroszek and Marek Kucharski – familiarised the audience with the parts of London where Chopin lived, the places he frequented and where he performed concerts, as well as Scotland in general and the estate of the Stirling family. The meeting in the Green Room was accompanied by a short performance by Anna Dębowska who used the 1847 Pleyel piano to play the Nocturnes in F-Minor Op. 55 No. 1 and E-flat Major, No. 2, the Mazurka in B-flat Major, No. 1, and the Prelude in D-flat Major, Op. 28, No. 15. The crowning moment of the evening was the reading of the letter sent by Patrick Stirling-Aird from Kippenross in Scotland, a descendant of Jane W. Stirling, who expressed his gratitude for commemorating his great ancestor.
