Exhibition: Cracow and the Jagiellonian University on postcards 100 years ago

The new exhibition created by Prof. Aleksander B. Skotnicki illustraties festivities which took place on 500th restoration anniversary of Cracow University (1400-1900).

On that occasion, the former capital of a non-existent countery hosted dozens of rectors and professors from all European and a few American universities. On June 6, 1900, the Collegium Maius courtyard saw the erection of a monument to Nicolaus Copernicus, the most renowned student of the University (1491-1495). Additionally, the exhibition shows the cityscape of Cracow during that period as it was seen be distinguished quests arriving from other partition zones of Poland and foreign countries. Visitors can also admire original Cracow postcards from 1900-1914.
