XII Festival of Science in Cracow

Since 2005, during each edition of the Festival of Science, the Jagiellonian University Museum presents its conservation office in cooperation with the Department of Art Conservation from the Academy of Fine Arts. Thanks to this 20-years long cooperation, visitors are able to watch conservators doing their daily work.

In this year's edition, visitors were able to learn how to make copies and retouch paintings, how the Wawel Castle heads and polychromes are made, but also explore the technique of using X-rays to examine paintings. Furthermore, during the event there was even chance to show one's artistic talent.
